FAQ

Why are my yeast values higher than calculator X?

Impasto Lab uses a Q10 = 2 temperature model anchored at 1% IDY for a 24-hour fermentation at 18 °C. Some calculators assume a lower baseline, so their numbers come out smaller. Our values are tuned for reliable results in a home oven — but if you prefer less yeast, switch off auto-yeast and set the percentage manually.

Does Impasto Lab work offline?

Yes. The calculator, fermentation schedule and your private recipes all work fully offline. Only the Community section requires an internet connection.

How is my data stored?

Private recipes are stored in your own iCloud account — only you have access. Recipes you publish go to the CloudKit Public Database and are visible to other users of the app. There are no third-party analytics. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I edit a recipe after publishing?

Yes. Edit the recipe in your library and the published version syncs with your changes.

How does moderation work?

Text goes through an on-device profanity filter covering all 15 supported languages, plus manual user reports. Photos are checked by an on-device sensitivity analyzer and can also be reported. Reported content is reviewed and removed within 24 hours if it violates the Terms.

Email us at impastolab.support@pisz.to. Include your iOS version and a short description (screenshots help a lot). Feature ideas are very welcome — many shipped features started as user emails.
